PROFILE
WTA 125 MAKARSKA OPEN
After 15 successful years of hosting the tournament in Bol, the time has come for a change. Makarska is the new attractive destination for the WTA 125 tournament category. The tournament will take place at the beginning of June, transforming Makarska into a hub of sports and entertainment in the region.
Played against a magnificent sea view, with a great atmosphere and excellent organization, these are once again the strongest assets of this renowned sporting event, featuring top-ranked female players from Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia, Montenegro, Italy, China, Luxembourg, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, and more, and it regularly welcomes back all its champions.
Steve Simon, the head of the WTA, says that Croatia has always been a strong supporter of women’s tennis and WTA tournaments.
“Croatia is a country with an exceptional track record and history of organizing top-level tournaments dating back to 1991.” “We are delighted that the Makarska Open will continue our WTA story on the beautiful Croatian coast,” Simon states.
